Modifying the Dreamcast Console or PS2® requires the internal installation of a modchip or modification component which is soldered to extremely fine points on the main board. Modchips are not an Official Product of Sega and have no end user support from the Dreamcast Manufacturer. Boot Discs enable most Games to boot but there are games that will not load with just a boot disc so modchips are required in these cases- Higher quality Modchips ensure positive reading of all media and do not cause wear and tear on Console Laser and Components and also effectively play all games on the Market.

The Australian Dreamcast Web Browser Software only allows the user to use Telstra BigPond™ and does not allow access to many Java scripted sites and one version 2 Boot Disc.
