Q. Modchip-wizard Team !! Hello - I Have a Australian Bought PAL Playstation® 3 ( PS3® ) Console - in which I removed the Standard Original Hitachi 60 GIG Hard Disc Drive and installed a Western Digital 320 Gig SATA Drive - The New Larger PS3® Hard drive was formatted correctly and has been working perfect for more than 8 Months but yesterday after turning on the console after the SONY® Wave Start Screen The Screen displays an Error Message: Cannot Find Compatible Hard Drive Error.
I Removed the Hard Drive and re inserted it believing it may have been caused by it being slightly dislodged internally from the Power Sata connectors inside the PS3® but still the Same Error Shows. What can I do.???

A. Modchip-wizards - We suggest not to Power on the NTSC J PS3® Console until you have mastered this Problem with The Console in Case further damage is Caused. It Seems like you have a Faulty PS3® Hard Drive or it needs to be formatted again - or in some cases Low Level Formatted So the Master Boot Record can be Re Written. This will lose your data but possibly save the Hard Drive. We have had many cases where the same hard drive may not work in some PS3 Consoles but can be installed and formatted in others and then re inserted back in the Unit that could not detect it. Sometimes the Hard Drive may have a Faulty Master Boot Record and need to be Low Level Formatted to work and Sometimes The Hard drive cannot be recovered - like a PC Hard drive Crash. We would recommend Inserting your original 60 Gig Hard Drive if that Works it means your Console is Fine - Then you can Go and get a replacement Large Hard Drive.
1. Reformat the PS3® Hard Drive and set all Settings to Factory Default / Even Replace with New Hard drive is worth a try.
